Culinary Farm-to-Table Program

Course Overview

The Culinary Farm- to-Table elective class at Sonoma Valley Middle School uses our school garden and kitchen to teach hands-on skills and academic content. Through this class, students discover the journey of food from the farm to the table while learning culinary and gardening skills, as well as sustainability and healthy eating. The skills, knowledge, and behaviors learned help enrich our student’s lives, while promoting a deeper connection with their families, community, and environment.

Course Goals

Understand where food comes from by growing fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Explore sustainable farming and its impact on the environment.

Gardening Skills

Overview

Students gain knowledge and practical hands-on experiences in gardening to make positive changes in their lives and the community.

Culinary Skills

Culinary Skills
